The Cleanse-Day 7

Yay! I'm done! Well, almost. Tomorrow I will be done.

Here's the low down for today:

Breakfast: none, I wasn't even hungry! I think it was from all the bad stuff I ate the night before
Lunch: Vegetable soup
Snack: A couple little bites of Hannah's Larabar
Dinner: Vegetable soup, 1 chicken nugget, 1 piece of bread. I got hungry...

Hopefully I lost some weight today! I did a little working out so we'll see for tomorrow!

weigh-in

Well, I guess I knew what was coming for me!

starting weight: 154.5
current weight: 149.5
lbs lost so far: 5.0

So, no loss, a small gain but I really can't really be mad because I brought it on myself. So today I'm sticking to the plan of a soup. Here are the recipe details:

2-3 Large Onions Chopped
1 Head of Cabbage Chopped
1 Green Pepper Chopped
5-6 Celery Stalks Chopped

2 Lg. Cans Diced Tomatoes (I like those with basil, oregano,
garlic)
2 Pkgs. Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix

Put the chopped vegetables in pan and pour in tomatoes that
have been slightly blended in the blender. Then put in about
4-6 cups water to barely cover the vegetables. Cook for about
10 minutes then add the Beefy Onion Soup Mix and cook until
all the vegetables are tender.

Hopefully I can lose that 1/2 pound again and maybe even another 1/2 pound!

The cleanse- Day 6

Today was been good and bad. First the good!

Breakfast: sauteed greens and cabbage and chicken
Lunch: steamed carrots and zuchinni and a handful of noodles. (Noodles are not part of the "plan" but I couldn't resist hot noodles in front of me! They were for Hannah)

Now the bad...

Dinner: baked turkey, with vegetables. 7 mini-muffins....I made blueberry muffins for Danny and Hannah and couldn't resist. Next time, no muffins...

Now the worst...

When I was at YW a leader brought out cookies, and I didn't take one and didn't have any intention to. But Hannah was following the leader around saying, "cookie, cookie". So I got one and I'm not about to let my 1 1/2 yr old eat an entire no bake cookie at 8 pm! So I ate like 1/2 of the cookie. I was mad about the cookie but got over it quickly.

Then when I got home I ate a handful of cheese balls and then Danny came home with a resses peanut butter shake and I ate the whole thing! All 12 oz! I am terrible. I feel gross and bloated. I did do some chores around the house but I highly doubt I will lose any weight tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised if I gain weight. Lame. Tomorrow will be better, no cheating.

Food for Day 7 is this cleansing soup. Hopefully it will be yummy!

weigh-in

Well, I guess it doesn't pay off to cheat....

starting weight: 154.5
current weight: 149.0
lbs lost so far: 5.5

Oh well. With only 2 day's left, including today I don't really think I will lose the 10-17 lbs promised by the weight loss menu. But these 5.5 and hopefully more in the next couple days has really given me a good jump start.

Today's plan is 10-12 oz turkey/chicken and veggies. I'm sticking to it this time. I want to lose more!

Monday, April 4, 2011

The Cleanse- Day 5

I couldn't do it. I couldn't swallow another tomato, yuck! But before then I did great.

Breakfast: 3 oz chicken, 1 tomato
Lunch: 7 oz chicken, 1 tomato
Dinner: Summer chicken salad from Zupas, 1 strawberry (not chocolate covered), and a roll with butter.

I felt so much better afterward. I'm not sure if it's because I hadn't eaten much or what but I was WAY ornery and I knew that if all the family was going to be eating Zupas I had no chance to just sit there. I'm lucky I didn't cave and eat the chocolate on the strawberry. It was close!

So, I kind of fouled up today but I guess we'll see how my weigh-in goes tomorrow. I all reality I didn't eat that many calories but I also didn't do much exercise either, except chasing my kid around and walking through a museum.

Tomorrow will be better: 10-12 oz chicken/turkey and vegetables. I like that better. Veggies! Also, I am going to make my vegetable soup that's supposed to be for day 7 tomorrow night so I can have it starting in the morning. I am a major morning eater, can't do anything until I get my food!

weigh-in

Starting weight: 154.5
Current weight: 149.0
lbs lost so far: 5.5

I am happy with today's results! I can't believe I'm in the 140s again! woohoo! I vow to not be in the 150s again, unless I'm pregnant. I'm so excited and I'll just have to remember my weight loss goals as I go through today.

Day 5: I can have 10-12 oz chicken/turkey and as many as 6 tomatoes. Ugh...I'm not a tomato lover anyway so we'll see how today goes...wish me luck!!

The Cleanse-Day 4

Yay for day 4! I have actually quite enjoyed today. I like milk and I like bananas, and surprisingly I'm not so sick of them at this point that I wouldn't throw up if I had another. My stomach is making all sorts of rumblings though so I'm not quite sure what's going to happen, hopefully nothing. Here's a lowdown of my consumption today:

Breakfast: Banana milkshake (1 banana, 1 c milk, ice)
Snack: 1/2 banana
Lunch: 1 banana, 1 c milk
Snack: 1/2 banana, 1 c milk
Dinner: 1 c milk, 2 bananas sliced so I could feel like I was eating the yummy oven baked potatoes with all the fixin's like my family.
Snack: Banana milkshake identical to breakfast. Although I put the milk in the freezer for about 20 minutes before and it was better than breakfast because it was colder.

I could definitely feel the lack of calories that I was getting today. I never got dizzy or lightheaded but I felt tired around dinner time and a little out of it. That's the only time I had weird symptoms though.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow but hopefully it wont be too bad. I'll just drink lots of water. Also, it's only 1 day so it can't be that bad!

weigh-in

Starting weight: 154.5
Current weight: 150.0
lbs lost so far: 4.5

Okay okay, that's great! I can't help but be a little dissapointed about not being under 150 but that's okay. For sure, I will be tomorrow. Also, today on a side note, it snowed SO much! Yesterday was so nice and we were outside without our shoes. My, how a day can change things, or as my sis-in-law said, we have bi-polar weather here!

Today I can have as many as 8 bananas and as many as 8 glasses of milk. Let's see how creative I can be :)

Saturday, April 2, 2011

The Cleanse- Day 3

Day three...I was feeling okay on my energy level today but I am so tired right now. It is almost midnight so that could be taken into consideration. Fruits and veggies today, which was nice, but I'm so sick of them right now. I can't wait until tomorrow when I can make banana smoothies!
Here's the food for today, or what I can remember, I didn't write it down.
Breakfast: strawberry, orange juice, ice, spinach shake
Snack: 1 cantaloupe
Lunch: sauteed swiss chard, yellow peppers, peas
Dinner: grapes, chicken noodle soup

What?? Chicken noodle soup?? Yes. My wonderful mother-in-law made chicken noodle soup and I was off running errands and couldn't make my dinner. And she had already put some in a bowl for me, in front of me. I ate a very small bowl and it was mostly chicken, carrots and broth, and of course, was very very delicious. And I didn't eat any of the rolls with yummy butter and jam... : (

Snack: more grapes and strawberries!

As I've done this cleanse I've really begun to notice all the things I used to eat when I was eating whatever I wanted. No wonder I can't lose weight and I'm gaining weight. I snack, a lot! I am also a major snacker at my in-laws because they have lots of snacks, and unhealthy ones to make it worse! This cleanse has helped me realize how much I did eat, and all the random times I would eat. Also, I'm eating tons more healthy food than before.

Friday, April 1, 2011

The Cleanse-Day 2

Today has been tough! My honey buns said it would be hard but I didn't realize how hard! It's 9:15 p.m. and I am tired and feeling like I want a snack but like last night, anything but vegetables (or yesterday- fruit)!! I did cheat a little bit but I was starving! So, here's the lowdown:

Breakfast: cucumber
Lunch: sauteed orange pepper, frozen peas, collard greens
Snack: 2 lion house recipe meatballs about 2 in in diameter. I was just so starving that I needed to eat something substantial and I couldn't let the meatballs go to waste (Danny won't eat them, too many onions) They were SOO good!
Dinner: steamed red cabbage, yellow pepper, and collard greens. potato with butter and refried beans. I'm not sure if the refried beans are part of the diet but they were delicious!

Tomorrow I get a little more variety with my cleanse: Day 3-Same as day 1 and 2 but no potato : ( I am excited to make veggie/fruit shakes. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have one in the morning with ice. Yummy!

starting weight: 154.5
current weight: 150.5
lbs lost so far: 4

So I'm not as enthusiastic about today's weigh in but I knew that 3+ pounds yesterday was some water. I just hope that my weight loss is a little more tomorrow, like 1 pound. Maybe the meatballs had something to do with my weigh in....Here's to day 3!

The Cleanse -Day 1

Well, Day 1 was pretty good. I didn't feel hungry for most of the day and then towards the end of the day around 9ish I was feeling hungry for snacky foods; chips, crackers, cereal. This is when I would usually eat those. I didn't feel like eating more fruit AT ALL. I didn't give in and was good the whole day! Yay! Here's a break-down:

Breakfast: Apple, peaches
Snack: Strawberries
Lunch: Mixed fruit
Dinner: Cantelope and grapes. I also ate 2 beans from a bean pod without thinking but I don't think that will effect me in any way.

Now, one of the reasons I wanted to do this cleanse was to give my body a fresh start and "cleanse" it if you will of all the bad things I've been eating like chocolate cake donuts, oreos, and cookies. The other reason is for weight loss. I don't want to be pregnant and weigh so much! I just can't fathom the fact. So until I do become pregnant I am on the serious track to healthy weight loss. Now on to weights:

starting weight: 154.5
current weight: 151
lbs lost so far: 3.5

Not too bad right?! I know a lot of it is water weight but I don't need that extra water weighing me down anyway. And those numbers are great motivators for me to keep going! Just the thought of being that close to being in the 140's again makes me really excited.

Day 2 is eat only vegetables, including 1 potato with butter! Also, to try and avoid peas, corn, and dry beans (for their calories). We'll see how I can handle it!

The Cleanse

Alright, so I decided to do the cleanse.

Today, Day 1, is all fruits, except bananas. So here we go!

So far today I've had a medium apple and 1 c bottled peaches. I need to go to the store so hopefully this cleanse will help me pick some yummy deliciously healthy foods!

March 30th

No exercise today but I didn't eat tons of junk either so that's good right? I think I might try a cleanse I saw on this website starting tomorrow. I've never been one for cleanses based on the fact that if something says you shouldn't eat all the healthy foods out there something's not right. But it's only 7 days and I figure I can do something for 7 days, right? I'll let you know tomorrow whether I'm on or off that wagon ride.

In sadder news, relatively, I checked my approximate body fat on a website and it said I was like 38% or some crazy amount and that if I wanted a toned stomach I would have to lose 25 pounds which coincidentally is how much I want to lose! I want to be 125 lbs and not have a muffin-top belly. So here's to a cleanse and a healthier me!

Goal Check #4

It's been a while! I guess that's what a trip and recovering from a trip will do to ya! I did have lots of fun on vacation and I did gain a teensy bit of weight but it's coming off fast so maybe it was water weight? :) Before my trip I talked about keeping track of everything I ate and counting calories and posting. Well, I did everything but the posting so at least I got something accomplished!

So on to the goals!
#1-vegetables-I didn't get my 3 servings in a day but I did get at least one so
#2-exercise-I definitely got my goals in during our trip so that's good!
#3-BMI-It's going down slowly after my trip yay!

So, not much to report except now I am losing weight I've already lost like a million times. At least hopefully this time I can keep it off, at least until I get pregnant again!

Goal check #3

I don't even want to do this this week. I am feeling a teensy bit like a failure. Over the weekend I way overindulged at the cabin and when I got on the scale this morning I had gained 3 pounds since the last time I weighed myself! So I am counting calories again. I really want to be under 150 for my trip this Saturday. I am going to do daily weigh-ins and nightly reports on food. Last weigh-in will be Friday morning.

Anyone else out there have goals for this week?

Go team!

Goal Check #2

I have been icky icky sick the last few days. I really hope I feel better soon. But on to the goals:

#1-Veggies: I have been doing great with eating more veggies! I decided today i need to start a food journal. I've always had a hard time keeping my food journal because I don't bring it everywhere. But I think I'm going to start wearing a purse ( I just use a diaper bag) and then I can bring my planner with me which will include my food journal.

#2-Cardio: Not so great this week. I did 1 workout which was 30 min long. It was really nice but my motivation is in the clouds....

#3-BMI: Still the same, basically. Actually I weighed myself yesterday and I weighed 1 pound more than last week! Oh my heck!! Ugh...

Bring on the cardio!

Monday, January 31, 2011

Goal check #1

So I wanted to do a goal check today to see how I'm doing. I think I should do this weekly? I mean why make new years resolutions if you just forget about them until December and then say, oh well, next year...

So, here they are again!

#1-eat 3 servings of vegetables a day--I have been trying to eat more vegetables each day but I'm not sure I am getting three every day. So I will be more committed to writing that down this week.

#2-Do cardio exercise 30 minutes a day 3 times a week--Well, I did the elliptical for 30 min. and went on a 45 min walk later on Saturday but that was really the first long workout(s) I did this year. I know, it's sad, but that's why we make goals. They are supposed to be something we need to work towards. So this week, I will try and workout 2 X for 30 min to try and get up to my goal of 3x a week.

#3-
Obtain a healthy BMI (18.5-24.9--currently: 25.7) No change here. I think this goal can only be accomplished by doing the previous two goals (and other stuff but don't worry I know that)

So here's to a new week of exercise and eating right!

Push-ups

I just did 15 push ups! My arms are burning but it felt great! Now, if only I could do that on a more regular basis haha

Wii fit

The Hubs and I recently bought a Wii with the Wii fit and a bunch of other fitness games. I did my first trial run today and thought it was pretty fun. I wasn't very motivated though. Tomorrow I want to try something a little more upbeat.

Also, I did a weight check today: 151

I also did a measurement check and I am up 1/2 inch overall.

So what that means is that I am not gaining weight but I'm getting fluffy! Time to step up the workouts!

weight check, 2010 goal re-cap

Ok, well I did a weight check this morning and I was 150 lbs. Not too bad but not too great either. I am proud to say that I didn't gain a lot of weight during the holidays, only 1 pound! Last year I gained 8.5 pounds! Wow! I was definitely not in control. So, re-cap for 2010 goals:

#1-Short-term goal-lose 10 lbs by Hannah's first birthday, August 24 (then I'll be at my pre-preg weight) (not complete)
#2-Lose another 10 lbs by October 31st (not complete)
#3-Lose 5 more lbs by the end of the year totaling 25 lbs (not complete)
#4-Do some form of exercise each day, at least 20 minutes (biking, running, walking, etc) (semi-complete)
#5-Cut down on sweets. This one is really hard for me. I don't know how to set limits for candy/sweets eating so if anyone has any good ideas let me know! : ) (semi-complete--I had my days but I have been much more aware of what I'm eating and I'm trying to not be so crazy)

So...2010 wasn't such a great year for weight loss. This year my goals are going to start out differently. I want to concentrate more on exercise and eating well and not necessarily weight loss. The goals for 2011 are:

#1-Eat 3 servings of vegetables a day.
#2-Do cardio exercise 30 minutes a day 3 times a week.
#3-Obtain a healthy BMI (18.5-24.9--currently: 25.7)

Go good luck with your goals and hopefully I can attain mine! Luckily I have all year to work on them!

motivation and moving

oh man, right now I have no motivation, all I want to do is unpack my house! Hopefully soon my house will look better and I will be motivated to workout again. Tomorrow I'm doing a measurement check so we'll see how it goes!

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

I don't really have a subject for this post. I haven't been working out as much this week, just walking. I don't know but for some reason I feel like I have to get my workout done in the morning and if I don't then I don't even try in the afternoon/evening. Maybe it's because I like to shower in the morning and I don't like feeling grungy all day...Anyway, I'm really hoping with this move that I will be able to wake up early and workout and shower all before baby wakes up. It will be hard, I'm sure, but I really want to do it. And I would really really like to get the weight off before I get pregnant again. We'll see, hopefully!

Running

Yesterday I was hanging out with my sister and she asked if I wanted to come over and workout tomorrow (today). So, she did some weight training while I ran on her treadmill for 25 minutes and little baby cakes played in her pack 'n play with some toys. It was great. It makes me really want a treadmill again. Some day! I do have an elliptical in storage which I am really excited to get out and start using. Only a few more weeks!

Anyway, running felt really nice. I just wish the weather/air was better right now for running but it's just gross and cold.

30 day shred-day 18

Ok, it's been a while, like almost 2 weeks?? I don't know but I was sitting down today thinking how depressed I was that I gained 2 pounds in a weekend and can't seem to lose weight, and la dee la dee la. So, I decided to get off my butt and workout. I don't want to be a quitter, except maybe of chocolate. So, workout completed! It felt good and now I have a more recent reminder of how much I like to workout!

Monday, November 29, 2010

Thanksgiving

While I am grateful for the wonderful day I had with family and friends and hanging out, and especially food. I am not as grateful for my inability to have control! I also spent the weekend at the family cabin which didn't help because that's a total snack fest. So, alas, I have gained 2 pounds. No! haha. Oh well. I have a huge driveway to shovel and haven't hardly made a dent. So hopefully with some healthy eating after this weekend, a good shovel, and 30 day shred, I will be on my way back to where I was and beyond!

Monday, November 22, 2010

4 lbs in 10 days??

I don't know if I can lose 4 pounds in 10 days, especially with Thanksgiving.... But I would really love to be in the healthy range for my BMI so I am going to make it happen! 145 here we come!

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

BMI

Right now my BMI is 25.6 which is considered overweight for my height.

Weighing 145 lbs will take my BMI to 24.9 which is considered healthy. I definitely want to be there soon, before the end of the month!

Ultimate goal of 125 will make my BMI a healthy 21.5 I can't wait!

30 Day Shred-Day 17

Today was tough! I am sweating a lot!I think I'll stick to level 2 until day 20. I might as well since I only have a couple more days for it. In other news I did a measurement check today and I've lost 2 3/4 inches all around. Not as good as last time but with the bad weather I haven't been going out running/walking as much as I should...

P.S. I just updated my Friday weigh-ins and for the past 5 months I haven't lost a single pound and actually kept it off! That's gotta change!!

Monday, November 15, 2010

30 day shred- day 16

Today was good. Not too much to report. but I am half-way done woo hoo! I do like these workouts but it's getting a little boring. I might go to level 3 sooner than later and just push through that.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

30 day shred-Day 15

Yay! I'm half way done! Today I felt so sore at the beginning of the workout and then I felt much better and much sweatier at the end. I am glad that I got the motivation to do it today. Doing this program or any other exercise program for that matter every other day isn't going to help with weight loss, just maintenance.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

30 day shred-day 14

Oh, I wanted to just pass out during today's work out. It's been a crazy week with my dad in town and I've been devoting more time to family than to working out. Thus only day 14 but I'm still sticking with it. I'm almost halfway done!

I also did a weight check last Friday: 150 lbs. Lame. But I attribute it to my bad eating while with all my family and not exercising because of weather and family coming into town. I need to stay more motivated and be flexible!

Monday, November 1, 2010

30 Day shred-Day 13

Today was great. My arms are so sore and I sweat like crazy! It must've been that I was wearing yoga pants and it was like 72 degrees in my house. oh man! The long weekend off plus Halloween did me in! Luckily I didn't gourge like I did in years past and I don't feel too bad. I didn't do a weigh in on Friday though so we'll have to wait and see what the damage is this Friday :)

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

30 day shred-day 12

Day 12...My eating today was pretty terrible. Danny's work had a Halloween party and I had 2 cupcakes, 1 fun sized kit-kat, popcorn, and rootbeer! Then I had 5 otter pops after I got home while I was working on the computer. So when 10:30 rolled around and I finally got to working out it got the best of me. I literally almost threw up. I still don't feel that great but it was my own fault and I know that. I didn't have to modify as much today which is great so we'll see how tomorrow goes!

Monday, October 25, 2010

30 day shred-Day 11

I started level 2 today and oh my gosh it KICKED MY BUTT! I don't know if it's because I took the weekend off but this workout was hard! I had to stop a few times and modified a ton of moves and couldn't finish some of the weight lifting parts. Oh man, this is going to be a tough next 20 some odd days. If this is how level 2 is I can only imagine level 3.

Girls overnighter...

So this last weekend some of my friends and I went to Park City and we, well, I pigged out! Oh man, I had tons of sushi for dinner then oreos, ice cream, cheese puffs, twix, snickers, etc. It was crazy. Needless to say the next morning I had a stomach ache. So today, after one day of clean eating I am feeling better but can't believe I ate all that bad food!

Thursday, October 21, 2010

30 day shred-Day 10

Woohoo! I made it through level 1! Tomorrow I start level 2 and I'm excited! Hopefully it's not too hard...

Today's workout was tough. I keep telling myself I can't take breaks because it makes it really hard when I start working out again but alas I do it still again and again. I am determined not to stop again this time. Just push through it!

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Sick again......

I don't know what my deal is! I've come up with one idea. Maybe my body was trying to get rid of all my "toxins" and so I got sick and then I really got sick and I can't get rid of it just yet. Whatever. I think I'm just going to try and push through this and keep working out.

Thursday, October 14, 2010

30 day shred-day 9

It's been a few days. Tuesday my baby had her surgery so that day was out. Then Wednesday I was recovering from the surgery (lack of sleep, etc.) I did walk yesterday so that's good.

Today I walked and did the 30 day shred. Tomorrow is my last day on Level 1 so I'm excited to see what Level 2 has to bring. I did all my measurements last month and decided I would check them on a monthly basis to see if I'm losing or not. Well, today I checked and I have lost 5 1/4 inches all a round! I am so happy about my results. I definitely attribute it to the 30 day shred I've been doing, all my walking, and watching what I eat. I am going to check again in a month to check my progress.

Monday, October 11, 2010

30 day shred-day 8

Today was great. I feel better than last week definitely! I went for a walk and shredded today and I feel pumped! I love working out in the morning because it makes me feel good all day which makes me want to make good choices about my eating and further exercising (taking the stairs for example). I also drink more water on the days I exercise and eat well which makes since because my body needs it!

Sunday, October 10, 2010

30 day shred-day 7

Wow! What a difference missing a few days makes! Day 6 was Monday and Day 7 was Saturday. I felt so sore today and yesterday when I was working out it was really tough. Day 6 I was finally feeling good while exercising. Luckily I've been feeling better and I don't know what I had, probably just the flu. I still walked most days (not on Thursday).

I did do a weight check and I'm now 149.5 lbs which means I've lost 1.5 lbs in the last 3 weeks. My weight loss is SO slow it's a little discouraging but as long as I keep going down (with weight and inches) is all that matters. One of my goals this year has been to weigh less than I did last year. So far so good. (Of course I had a 6 week old at this point last year so...)

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Still sick...

Well, this just sucks. I haven't felt good for the last few days and it's really crampin' my style! Hopefully I will feel tons better soon and continue my 30 days, which I intend to!

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Sick again

I don't know what my deal is. I started on my walk this morning and my stomach just was so unsettled. I ate a normal breakfast of eggs and toast and a little banana. I'm not pregnant either. I don't know if this flu/cold is just lingering but it was not a fun walk. I still went for about 40 minutes but totally felt like throwing up and luckily didn't. Oh well. I still don't feel well so hopefully I can muster up some workout motivation and workout after the babe's asleep for the night.

Monday, October 4, 2010

30 day shred-day 6

Today was great. I feel really good and have come up with a better workout plan so I don't miss days anymore. I am really really sad the weather is getting colder in the morning. I don't know what I'm going to do for my walking when it's snowing and such. I guess I'll figure it out when the time comes. Anyway, that's the update.

Sick sick Sick

On Friday I started not feeling well. By Saturday I was so sick! My stomach felt like it was being twisted like a sponge. No working out and luckily it was a Saturday and my dear husband was there to help take care of the babe. So that whole day was a waste and then it was Sunday and here we are back to today. So today should've been day 7 but it's going to be day 6 since I missed Friday. I think I should've done this same thing last week when I missed a day but maybe I will do 31 days of the 30 day shred to make up for it. So here's for continuing on!

Friday, October 1, 2010

Weight check

Ok, so I got on the scale this morning excited because I've been working out all week. And I've gained a pound. I was quite dissapointed at first but then realized it could be muscle since I've been doing weights all week. Plus, at the beginning of this week I didn't eat very well, terrible to be honest. I love my husband but I think I'll have to tell him to not buy me any more oreos, at least not the normal sized package. It was gone in like 3 days. I know, I'm terrible.

I haven't done my shred yet today but I will do it no matter what. I am excited to hopefully see results soon, you know, in the next 30 days anyway. Also, I took some before pictures so if I look any different at the end of the 30 days I'll post them :)

30 day shred-day 5

shredding: check

30 day shred-day 4

I'm posting a day late because I just didn't get to it yesterday, but yesterday was great and I shredded away. Still modifying some moves by no using any weights but hopefully that will end soon. I'm only using 5 lbs for heaven's sake!

I will probably keep doing the level 1 workout until I don't have to modify anymore. So hopefully by day 10 I will be able to do all the exercises with the weights!

30 day shred-day 3

It was 9:00pm and I was staring at the clock. I still hadn't done my shredding workout. And I never did...

Here's the thing. If I was in my old house I totally would've done it. BUT in this old duplex I think it would be too much to ask my neighbor to deal with his light shaking as I jump rope, do jumping jacks, and butt kicks. Tomorrow should I do 2 workouts or should I just do 1 and keep going? If anyone's out there that cares your input is appreciated! LOL

My day just got away from me and I will try to stay on task about it. To be honest I watched a whole episode of Smallville while eating Oreos while little babe was taking her nap. Not the smartest choice but there's always tomorrow.

30 day shred-day 2

Today was a little easier, probably because I didn't use the weights on certain parts that I skipped last time. This time I did the exercise without the weight and I liked that better. I'll definitely have to work up to using the weights the whole time. Also today I jogged/walked 1 1/2 times around the park which equals about 2 miles. I feel great and I've already had 40 ounces of water!

30 day shred-day 1

I was excited to work out today and actually wore my workout clothes for about 5 hours before I could workout. Life gets busy sometimes. Anyway, I started the workout and forgot how hard it was! I was halfway through and thought to myself, "how did I remember this being easy?" But I pushed through and only had to modify a few of the exercises. By the end I was a sweaty mess and very happy I did it. Luckily its only 20 minutes or I don't think I would do it! So here's to Monday! (Sunday's off ;)

30 Day Shred

A few of my online buddies are doing the 30 Day shred so I figured I'd join them! So, starting tomorrow, I will start! It's too late tonight to start and we're watching a movie anyway. I will be doing it every day, except Sundays. So the 30 days will be done on October 29th which is conveniently very close to one of my weight loss goals :)

I'll keep posting every day and it's not going to be a bust like P90X. That was just a little too crazy for me!

Maintaining

So, I guess my last post was a little depressing! So a happier one today. I checked my measurements and compared them to 2 months ago and they're the same. Now, it's not the greatest BUT they're the same which means I'm not getting any bigger! Lol! And my weight is about the same too.

I am still walking every morning and I've just added strength training to my workout regimen.

I hope everyone is doing well out there!

I don't want to be fat anymore

I don't want to be fat anymore. I really don't. I don't want to have my love handles hanging out over my "fat" jeans. I don't want all of my shirts to feel too tight. And I don't want to buy new bigger clothes because that's not right. I am overweight for my height and body frame and I need to lose it. I recently looked at some pictures from a family trip to Lake Powell and I am sorely disappointing with myself. How did I let go so much? Why haven't I changed already? Looking at those pictures and really knowing how bad I look I decided I really need to change. I need to get a hold of myself. I didn't make my first goal of losing 10 pounds and that's okay. I can' keep going and still lose the weight. I am going to workout more (more that just a walk a day) and eat less. It's really just that easy. Well, the plan is easy. The actual doing it is hard. But I know I can do it. I need to do it. I don't want to be overweight like my mom (sorry mom). I see her struggle all the time, yo yo dieting, etc. Her feet hurt, her knees hurt. I don't want that. She's been trying to lose weight for years and hasn't had the willpower or has burned out because she went too strong too fast. I don't want to be like that and I can see myself going down that path if I don't change now. Also, I don't want to get pregnant again at this weight. Studies have shown that if you weigh more than you did before you got pregnant the first time (or your previous pregnancy) that you have a higher risk of gestational diabetes, large child, blood pressure problems, etc. I don't want to have to deal with that! So, that's my soapbox. Hopefully I didn't share too many personal details but then again I don't think too many people read this blog anyway lol! oh, and the 25 lbs is still on for the end of the year, bring it!

Clean Eating

While I have been walking/exercising every day my eating hasn't been that great. I came across a fitness blog and the author was talking about clean eating. I think it's a great idea and something I need to implement. I got a rootbeer float yesterday and afterward I didn't feel good at all (imagine that!). I shouldn't have even gotten it but I did. And now I know that my body doesn't like those kinds of things. Should I already know this? Of course!

So, back to clean eating. I want to eat clean. I'm going to eat clean. I will continue writing down my eating and maybe I'll post it here if I get ambitious ;) Eating clean to me consists of eating whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean meats. Not heavily processed foods, sweets, high fat foods, etc.

My Nemesis

This Week:

This week has been pretty good overall. I went walking every day and tried to keep good eating habits. On Tuesday we went up to our cabin and I ate a little too many sweets. And then we went up again on Friday and again, too many sweets. I don't know what to do! I feel like I have NO self control when I am eating sweets. I don't know why it was different when camping but I have had so many sweets the last 2 days and it's just crazy. And it make matters worse I weighed myself yesterday and I gained a pound back. I am going to have to work REALLY hard to lose the 10 pounds I am going to lose by the end of the month. I just need to keep my goals in sight...post it notes?...

Camping

Camping went well. I actually didn't have too hard of a time controlling myself. I did have three s'mores but I didn't eat tons of chocolate or sweets/unhealthy treats so I feel pretty good. Also, I weighed myself yesterday and I lost another pound! yay! One more down! I'm feeling really upbeat about my new healthy lifestyle and losing these pounds so I feel better about my body image!

Friday

Today is going very well so far. I had yummy cherrios for breakfast with fresh blueberries and fresh peach slices! It was delicious!

I have to keep reminding myself about overeating. I am an over eater. Sometimes I will over eat because I don't want to waste food, or because I'm afraid I wont be able to eat that food again for a while, or ever. But I need to remind myself that it's JUST food. I can buy the same thing at the store every day if I really want to. It's not just a one time thing. And if it is a one time thing, I should eat it slowly and enjoy it and have that be it. I don't need to over indulge resulting in stomach pain and then regret it later. It's all about self-control; something I am really trying to work on.

Today

Today went well for the most part. I found myself having a hard time not eating some of Hannah's food when she was eating (like cutting up food and eating a little). but I figure it's all healthy so it's okay. And I had cantaloupe as part of my snack. so all in all I think I'm around 1800 calories for today. I felt pretty good all day but around 9 I was so tired. Now, I'm doing a little computer work and I'm more awake. So here's to tomorrow. I'm going camping and so this whole calorie restriction will be tweaked a little so I can enjoy some s'mores. Yum!

Weaning...

Well, I am in the process of weaning Hannah. It's actually been really easy for her because I think at this point she likes the bottle a lot (no waiting for let down ). It's hard for me though. I just love the bonding time I have with her when she nurses. I'm sad. But I guess it's good that it's happening so smoothly. Today I only nursed her in the morning. I think I'll keep doing that until she doesn't want to anymore and have the rest of her feedings be formula. One bad thing about weaning is that I'll have to buy formula! I don't really want to. We've gotten so many free cans that I feel so blessed that we haven't had to buy any. Luckily we wont have to buy too much because she's almost 1!

Since we are weaning I am going to be more strict with my diet. Here's the plan for tomorrow and we'll see if I can stick to it and if it will be filling.

Breakfast:
*2 c Cherrios
*1 c Skim Milk
*1/2 c blueberries

Lunch:
*2 pieces whole wheat bread
* 1 1/2 T peanut butter
* 1 1/2 T jam
*1 c sliced carrot

Snack:
*Yogurt

Dinner:
* 1 c skim milk
*1 c cooked spaghetti
*1/2 c spaghetti sauce
*4 meatballs
* 1 c cooked broccoli
* 1 c strawberries (dessert!)

Total Cal: 1503

2010 Goals!

You might be wondering, Goals? At this time of the year? Yes, well, I realized I never made any concrete goals for my health this year and so I thought it was about time.
Some things that helped my in making goals:
-I gained 3 1/2 lbs in one week! WTH?!
-My dad weighed himself on my scale and WE WEIGH THE SAME!! (I know, totally embarrassing)
-I want to be at least 10 lbs lighter before I get pregnant with numero dos which will probably be happening sometime later this year...

On with the Goals!

#1-Short-term goal-lose 10 lbs by Hannah's first birthday, August 24 (then I'll be at my pre-preg weight)
#2-Lose another 10 lbs by October 31st
#3-Lose 5 more lbs by the end of the year totaling 25 lbs
#4-Do some form of exercise each day, at least 20 minutes (biking, running, walking, etc)
#5-Cut down on sweets. This one is really hard for me. I don't know how to set limits for candy/sweets eating so if anyone has any good ideas let me know! : )

Next Race: July 24th 10k

I have decided that unless I have something to work towards (half-marathon for instance) I am just not motivated (I know, sad)! So a 10k it is! I think it will be lots of fun and I think my dear Husband is going to run it with me. I lost 1/2 lb this week. Not too much going on there but at least I'm not the same like I have been the past like month and a half! Good luck to all you walkers, joggers, runners out there!

Walking again

I've decided to start walking on a regular basis again. I'm not sure if it will always be in the morning like today or in the evening. But today was great. I did a bunch of hills which is very easy in my neighborhood and even ran a little :) So I hope everyone else is having a great healthy day!

Half-Marathon stats and what I'm doing now

The half-marathon was crazy to say the least! Everything was going great until around mile 9 or 10. We were at liberty park and I stopped running to get a drink and my left knee started killing me! Sharp pains were no fun and happened every time I moved it. I worked through the pain though and my sister and I finished in 2 hrs 14 min and 47 sec (not sure on the sec, but who's counting?) I ended up with 2 blisters on my right foot and my body was VERY sore later that day (and I helped host a baby shower for my sister!). On Sunday I was doing a little better and managed to function as a Nursery worker in my ward. After a week I was feeling normal again. And after two weeks I finally ran again! It felt really good to run. now, here we are 2 1/2 weeks later and I haven't been doing much but the occasional walk. Ahh, oh well. I knew this would happen and that I needed a break afterward but I'm definitely ready to start exercising on a regular basis again. I've got to lose my baby weight before I get pregnant again!

Wendy's Hamburger + Running = BLA!

Just in case anyone out there needs to know: Eating a Wendy's hamburger and then going running does NOT mix well. I went running about 2 hours after eating it but still. I felt like my stomach was sick and I was having indigestion too! I should've known. I should've gone running when I went to the park this afternoon. Oh well. Lessons learned.

I can't believe the half marathon is in almost a week!!
I'm a little nervous.
I'm going to be really glad when it's over.
I'm still going to run after the half is over. It might take me a couple weeks but I'll be back :)

P.S. Why is it that I've been running so much and eating well and STILL NOT losing weight? It's pretty annoying. I'm still not to my pre-pregnancy weight and I'm pretty flustered. I know I've said in the past that everyone's different but really? Geez!

10 miles!

Yep, I ran ten miles on Friday! It was hard. We (my sis & I) ran 5 miles then took some gu (one each) then we ran some more until about 7 miles and I hit the wall! It was terrible. I felt like I couldn't go anymore. So we walked for a couple minutes until we got to 8 miles and then took another gu each. We ran some more and by the time we were done with our run I was on fire! I had SO much energy. I felt so good. I felt like I could run another few miles still. So, it was a good trial run for the half-marathon which is in 2 weeks!! I think for the half I will take the gu at 3 miles, 6 miles, and then see if I need another at 9 miles. The gu seemed to take a little longer to work than I thought it would. Anyway, so things are going good, still on track. And I'll be honest in that I can't wait for this to be over. I just feel so much pressure to perform! It'll be nice to walk during the week and run just one day a week.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

10-12 miles

Tomorrow I'm supposed to run 10-12 miles. EEK! I'm pretty sure I can do it. I might pee my pants but I can do it. I have been running 3 days a week every week since my last post and doing good. A couple saturday's ago my sissy a.k.a. running partner and I ran 8 miles at once! It was pretty intense! I felt like I was going to die so we'll see how tomorrow goes.

In weight loss news I've stayed pretty steady at the same weight for a while...I don't quite understand but maybe it's a combination of eating more food than the average person, gaining muscle from running, and who knows what.

Anyway, ugh, I guess I'll go to bed early tonight.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Still going strong!!

Yesterday I ran 2.6 miles not counting my warm up and cool down in 29 minutes! :)

Then today I walked to the library for my cross training and it was great. I walked for 40 minutes!

Anyway, I just wanted to post to help keep me going. I hope everyone else is doing good!

6 miles and doing ok

Well I'm on vacation right now with my sister who is also training for the half marathon. We didn't slack off the whole week which I might have if I was by myself :) which is why its great to have a running partner! We did 2 1/2 miles on Monday, missed Wednesday, and then 6 miles yesterday! It was hard and I wanted to quit and it was a hard reminder of how far I still need to go. I'm feeling pretty good today. My ankles are a little sore and same with the rest of my lower body but other than that I think I'll be ready to run again on Monday. I've been consistent in my running the past couple weeks too.
I was thinking yesterday as we were running, this is hard! It was hard and maybe that's why a lot of people don't do it, because it is difficult to run that much. And for me it's just going to get harder before it gets easier (the easy part is after the 1/2 marathon is over!) Anyway, just wanted to let ya'll know how things are going for me!

WAY cool website!

My sister just told me about this awesome website www.usatf.com. I think the coolest thing about it is that you can track your jogging routes. As the weather gets nicer I'm going to be jogging pretty much outside all the time. Sometimes it's hard to track where I go and I often just estimate. But with this website it tells you exactly how far you've gone using Googlemaps. You can cut across the street or through a yard. It's cool. Yesterday I ran 4 1/2 miles and tracked it using the website since I was out and about. There's also a feature to see other people's routes close to your home and how many miles they are if you want to do a specific route. You should check it out!

Here's the link to make your own route:http://www.usatf.org/routes/map/

Biking

I went biking (at the gym) yesterday for my cross training workout. It was awesome! I went 6 1/2 miles in 35 minutes. It was hard because I was doing hills but it felt good to get a hard workout in again. Now today is running. I haven't done it yet but I'm still planning on it :) I think biking is a great cross training exercise. I'm also considering the elliptical and swimming as other options. My food hasn't been as great as it was in the beginning of the year but I'm still trying despite the huge amount of chocolate I just received from Valentine's Day...

Slug

Today I feel like a slug. I did run 3 miles but I still feel like a slug. And when I was running I was feeling sore and it was hard and I was king of mad that I was running. I didn't want to be running. I wanted to be sitting on my couch playing with Hannah and not working hard, or maybe at least just walking around the park and not running. Maybe it's because I woke up at 6 and I'm just cranky.

Breathe the fresh air

Today I went outside in the backyard while Hannah was taking a nap because Sasha was barking at who knows what. The weather today has been great and I just stood out there and took a few deep breaths and thought to myself I feel healthy, I feel good, I look good. (Now, don't think I'm getting all self-whatever). On Friday I was hanging out with one of my friends and we were talking about our baby weight (her baby is 3 weeks younger than Hannah). She was talking about how much harder it was to get the weight off this time (this is her 2nd). By the end of the conversation we decided that we both look really good and looking back 10 years from now we'll say to ourselves, what were we thinking we looked great! I've done this many times. Looking back to when I was in high school, or just married, or now, before Hannah. But sometimes I stop and think, really, I don't look too bad :)

I hope you can look at yourself today after all the hard work you've been doing to stay in shape and think to yourself, you look great because you do!

Update!

Well, I just realized how long it had been since my last post! I am doing this 11 week training program for the 1/2 marathon. So I ran Wednesday and didn't run again until Monday but I ran a little over 2 miles with the stroller and the dog. It was interesting to say the least and I'll took forward to runs on Saturdays when I can concentrate on my form and such a little better.
So here's the plan and the training program started this week:
Mon, Wed and sat are running days,
Tues and Thurs are cross training days and
Fri is a stretch day and
Sunday is a rest day. I haven't gone running yet today but I will as soon as my babe gets tired for her next nap :)

(Edit: I ran 2 3/4 miles today! It was really really hard but I'm glad I'm doing it)

I'm sorry you guys are in a rut. Those are hard to get out of and I know I've had plenty of them. Good luck this week and I want to see you soon!!

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

I ran 2 miles today

I felt like I might throw up at one point but I did it. I've got A LOT of training to do before April 17th.

It wasn't too bad though considering it being my first time running a long distance since last may...

You know when you're not blogging...

Things usually aren't going so well. It's true for me at least. I like to blog every day about my accomplishments. But when I make chocolate chip m&m oatmeal cookies and eat a lot of them in one day. Well, not my best moment. I have been struggling to work out this week. I really really REALLY need to start running or I will die when I run the half marathon in less than 3 months. Since the weather is sure to continue this way for a while I might get a month to month membership at the Westminster Gym. It's pretty close and then while Danny's home I can go over there and run a few miles and on the days that the weather's nice I can run with Hannah and the dog (is that possible? I can just imagine myself running with a stroller and the dog...I don't know if I'm ready for that...) Anyway, I'm trying to keep myself pumped for this and I was calculating yesterday just for fun, if I want to lose 30 lbs this year, which I might, depending, then I only need to lose 2.7 lbs a month starting in February! 3 lbs a month! It seems pretty do-able right? I definitely want to get down to 130 before I get pregnant again so maybe that should be my goal for now. Oh, and I'm still sticking to my measurement goals too and will be checking them soon!

I wish everyone good luck this week and keep up the hard work!

Thursday, January 21, 2010

The truth. Is that I haven't done P90X for a whole week! What happened here? Well, the weekend and then I kind of lost my drive. It's terrible, I know. I did do a Biggest Loser 30 day shred on Monday but it was easy compared to P90X.

I've been thinking a lot about the half marathon. I really need to start training for it. So I think I may tweak my exercise plan a little bit so I'm not doing P90X everyday but maybe every other day so I can run every other day. My goal this year is to run the half marathon. P90X was something I wanted to with Danny to help us be motivated and get healthy.

I do have to say that our eating habits have changed tremendously, and for the better! We eat a lot more vegetables, hardly anything that's processed and are enjoying new recipes. Speaking of which, I made whole wheat nlueberry muffins last night. They are delicious and very easy to make! Here is the recipe. I think you should try it!

2/3 c sugar
1/3 c butter
1 egg
1/4 c Flax meal
1/4 c honey
1 c skim milk
2 c wheat flour
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 c drained blueberries or fresh blueberries (I used canned and they were still way yummy)

Cream sugar and butter together. Add egg and mix well. Add flax meal, honey and milk. Mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in blueberries. Fill greased muffin tins 3/4 full. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Try other fruits for other tasty muffins!

Day 13 and 14

Things have been going well. I did a little workout yesterday (only 30 minutes) but wasn't really feeling like working out. Of course that happens sometimes. Today I'm feeling better but haven't exercised yet. I don't think I probably will get to it until later tonight but that's okay. Here's my food so far:
Breakfast:
3 scrambled eggs
1 english muffin
1/2 c plain yogurt
1 tsp sugar (I couldn't stand the yogurt without it!)
1/4 c mixed berries (to put in yogurt)
1 c skim milk

Good luck to everyone today!

Update:

Lunch:
Aloha Chicken Salad from Rumbi's
1/2 container of the dressing they put on

Snack:
Sugar-free chocolate pudding
Banana

Day 12 P90X-Rest day

I know I said I wasn't going to weigh myself but I couldn't help it this morning. Are you ready? I've lost 5 1/2 lbs! I think this is all "real" weight loss and not water weight. It has been almost 2 weeks since I started this. So I'm feeling great about that! I feel like I've been working out a lot more than I used to and definitely eating better... But I'm not feeling so great about last night...We went out with some friends and stopped off at Yogurt Stop in Sandy. This place is SO good. I'll just tell you what I had: Chocolate frozen yogurt with cut up reese's peanut butter cup, reeses pieces, and raspberries and strawberries. I'm not going to lie, it was delicious! And I know I shouldn't have done it but it was yogurt, so that's a little better right? haha! Anyway, I'm sticking to my guns about keeping up with this new healthy diet and good exercise because I really feel different and feel better about myself. I'm going to keep going and hopefully keep getting results (on the scale) and hopefully seeing results in the way my clothes fit too!

Day 11 P90X

Today has been great so far! I had a good breakfast, worked out (1 hr video of pull ups, lunges, etc), then went to lunch with my friends. I didn't over indulge! My friends and I went to Kneaders for lunch which is way yummy. I had a half turkey sandwich and tomato basil soup. I really wanted a fruit tart but resisted and I'm so glad. Also I had a power bar this afternoon :) Hopefully with all this work I'll start seeing results soon!

Day 10 P90X

Well today I was supposed to do Yoga, but it's 9:15 and I'm tired from the whole day so I'm going to skip it until tomorrow. I did get a little exercise in. I reorganized my whole room and sweat a little. Ha ha. So I know it wasn't really exercising but at least I didn't sit around all day on my butt. I really just wish the air would clear so I could go running.

I am pretty sure I have lost some weight but I haven't weighed myself and don't plan to until the one month mark in starting P90X. I do feel like my ab muscles are a lot stronger. Not as strong as they were before having Hannah but I actually feel like I have real strength in them again. My clothes are fitting pretty much the same (I think) but I think if I was doing all the workouts and not cheating at all I would have more results. Maybe, I don't know.

I've been thinking about my measurements. Does anyone check their measurements or just the scale? I would like to set measurement goals but I'm not sure what they should be. I guess I could just make one and see how it goes...

So here it is, I'll try and be realistic:

Goals to be reached by Feb 4th, 2010 (1 month into P90X)
waist: -1 inch
hips: -1 inch
thighs: -1/2 inch

I didn't put my bust (hehe) in because I don't even know what's going on there. I measured my bust a few weeks ago and almost died because the measurement was so big! I know they're not really big but they're big to me!

Alright food today was okay. I snacked a little bit more but at least it was on healthy stuff. Good luck to you gals!

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Day 10 P90X

During my workout today I was totally sweating! Way more than usual! It was insane! Like you guys needed to know that or even wanted to but for some reason I feel like it was noteworthy. I was doing so well today with my food intake and then the dog was being annoying and barking and Hannah wouldn't take a nap and I couldn't take it anymore. I needed relief! I needed chocolate! Unfortunately I hid all the treats in the house. So I knew right where to get them. It hasn't been a problem until today. Maybe it was the fact that Danny had cheated last week and gotten a Snickers Ice Cream bar... But I didn't overindulge too bad. I had 2 chocolate hugs, 2 chocolate kisses, and 4 slices of a chocolate orange oh and 2 bell shaped crunch chocolates. I don't think it was too many calories but there's nothing I can do now but move forward! Ha ha, hopefully I can control myself a little better in the future!

No, I didn't throw away the candy and treats.
Yes, I did hide it in the same place...

Day 9 P90X

Well today was crazy. I managed to eat well, thankfully but Hannah was being a goose and wasn't taking long naps so no working out for me...Oh well, tomorrow is another day! Things are getting easier but my butt hurts a ton from my workout yesterday. I want to start training for the Salt Lake Half Marathon but the air is so bad I don't want to go out there yet! We don't have a gym membership and definitely don't have enough room for a treadmill so I'll just have to wait. Anyway, I hope you guys are doing well!

Day 8 P90X

Today has been great! I woke up early and ate breakfast, then when Hannah went to sleep I worked out, took a shower, and did a few other things around the house before she woke up! What a kid. Anyway. All my meals are going great too. I feel full of energy and healthy. Oh, but my body still hurts. Luckily I can pick up Hannah without being in pain anymore!

Day 7 P90X

Rest day!
I love that in this program there is a rest day. It's nice to not worry about working out on Sunday but we are still eating good. Danny was having a hard time with just eating right so I'm back to making the scheduled food for the program. In a way it will be nice but I think it's a little strict. I think as long as it will help Danny I'll do it. I really want him to succeed like he does so there ya go. Tomorrow we're back on the band wagon and will hopefully stay on track with our workouts. I've found it a little hard with Hannah. I don't want to wake up really early and work out because of my neighbor so I work out in the day but then I have to stop short if Hannah wakes up so I guess I'll get it all figured out eventually and will definitely keep going. No quitting here! Bring it!

P.S. We are going to California at the end of next month! Now there's motivation!!

Day 6 P90X

Back on track!
Day 6 wasnt too bad. I didnt work out but it was Saturday and thats my
excuse...
I still haven't eaten any sweets. Yipee!

Day 5-food breakdown...

I need to do a mid-day post to "regroup" if you will. We had an issue with our downstairs neighbor who's bedroom happens to be right below our kitchen. I'll tell you the whole story later but I didn't want to make much noise this morning so I opted to have Raisin Bran for breakfast. I went to a playdate and had a Fiber One bar. So not too bad. THEN I had fuity-o's cereal( I knew I should've hid those...) for lunch and some more raisin bran...So, I just needed to write my wrongs so that the rest of my day wont continue this way. I was even tempted to make chocolate chip m&m cookies!! I hope you guys are doing better than me!

I feel much better now!

UPDATE:
Truth be told this day wasn't the greatest but that's okay. It's all part of the journey. Tomorrow is a new day and I'm still on the saddle, I was just leaning a little too far to one side.

Day 4 P90X

Today was hard! It wasn't because I was sore. I wanted sweets SO bad. I had a Fiber One bar which helped curb my craziness (it has chocolate chips on top-yum!). In the morning I did the ab workout I didn't have time to do yesterday and then started Yoga but Hannah woke up and then I didn't finish until just now (I decided to clean my house, which was in desperate need). It's a 1 1/2 hour Yoga video and it was Intense! I feel sooo good now. I don't do a lot of yoga but I recommend it to everyone. I feel more flexible and more in tune with my body after just one time. I'm glad this is part of P90X and will definitely incorporate it in my workouts after these 90 days. Also, now that I've exercised I feel more committed to continuing to eat right and keep exercising and no processed, fattening, sweet foods!

I'm glad to see my blogging (a.k.a cousin) buddies are doing great. Yay for feeling healthy!

Namaste :)

Day 3 P90X

I was really tired today. And luckily I convinced my baby to sleep in a little after getting up to eat at 7. I did 1 out of 2 workouts I was supposed to do today. Like yesterday things were going on and I worked out late and now I'm up late. SO, off to bed and I'll finish my workout in the morning and do tomorrows too. Food was good today. I'm not quitting!

Day 2 P90X

Oh man. Today when I woke up I thought my abs were going to die (along with the rest of my body). Now, it's 10:30 PM and my body feels like mush. I just finished my workout about 10 minutes ago. I know it's late but the day just went too fast. It was tough, way tough, and once again I couldn't do every exercise but I stuck at it and feel good about it. I ate well again although I had many temptations including candy at my sisters house which I did not partake! I think I need to up my calories though. I'm not sure how many I'm getting but I am feeling like it might not be enough. Today I had a protein shake for breakfast, apple for a snack, protein bar for a snack, chef salad and lentil soup and bread for lunch, and spaghetti with meat sauce and green beans for dinner. And I think I'm going to have a another bar...we'll see...I'll have to test it all out. In the mean time, off to bed and hopefully sleeping through the night if the baby will let me and on to day 3!

Day 1 P90X

Today is Day 1 of P90X and I'm here to report I have not died yet. I did the workout for the day and ALMOST died but I took a few breathers and I'm better. I feel so good! I will tell you that I wasn't able to do everything in the video and that's one of my goals, to be able to complete it all... I'm especially happy that Danny is doing this with me. It's very good motivation.

The diet plan that comes with P90X is lame. The portion plan is okay but it's a bit confusing and the meal plan has crazy recipes and we've spent a lot of money for just a few days! So that's going out the window so to speak and I'm making up my own staying close to the guidelines. Of course no processed foods, sweets, etc. and TONS of water! The eating part is good. I'm staying on track there and feel like as long as we have a plan ahead of time we'll be okay.

Here's to 1 day down 89 to go!

Diet and Exercise

Yep, that's it. That's the answer to every person that is trying to lose weight. Diet and exercise. Now, if only I could just get my squishy bum off the couch-no just kidding. I don't know why but I'm way paranoid about losing my milk supply. Why? Who knows, maybe I feel like if I don't nurse Hannah she's not getting all she needs, failure, money, who knows! But just to be safe I don't think I'll be running just yet. I am still going to do my 30 day shred (which isn't exactly on a 30 day schedule) a few days a week because it's hard, gets my heart rate up and fun at the same time.

Also, sad news. I got on the scale and I've GAINED 4 pounds. Oh dear. The holidays are catching up to me already. So, now I'm on the "maintain, don't gain" motto for the holidays.

And since I wont be doing as intense cardio as I used to I am really going to try hard to focus on my food and what I'm putting in my body and how much I'm putting in there. Maybe I'll lose weight, just a little? Please?

ugh...

How many times have I done this post? Bla! I am having a hard time. I don't want to workout too hard because I'm afraid my milk supply will go down. I go a few days and do well and then eat bad foods (sweets) and then I lose motivation and just eat bad and not exercise. Sometimes I feel like the only way I can lose weight is if someone is watching over my shoulder all the time. I've thought about running a marathon with my friend Erin, but that's too long to run for me. Maybe a half.

Ok, so I just went online and I am going to do the Salt Lake City Half-Marathon on April 17, 2010. For Sure, no excuses.

Training starts today.

Thursday, October 29, 2009

I weighed myself this morning and I was 147.5! Yay. I have been stuck at 149 for a couple weeks and I'm glad I'm losing still. I know I need to make my diet healthier and this whole exercise thing is about to get harder when we store our elliptical. Oh well. I guess I'll have to make due. And with winter coming in and me going back to work I don't know when I'll have time to work out. Anyone have any good ideas??

Sunday Free Day

I've done this before and so I know I can do it again. Every day I wont eat sweets except for Sundays and Holidays. Just the Major ones-Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day. None of the martin luther king day stuff. And I'm not going to eat treats on any "eves" of Holidays either, no Christmas Eve candies. I think this will be good. Then I know I can have the candy/sweets on Sunday and holidays. I wont be restricting myself to the max but I will have some restriction. Last time I did this I ate more carbs at first but then got used to no sweets and I didn't even really crave sweets on Sundays after a while. It was wonderful and I'm going to do it again, at least until the end of the year...

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

It's been almost a week since my last post. I did exercise on Thursday like I said I would. 25 minutes of (it's way too late because I can't remember and it's way easy and I know what it is!) going fast and then going slow and repeating a bunch of times. Anyway, it was a good workout and I felt so good afterward. But Friday I didn't have time and Saturday either and Sunday was the blessing and then Monday was a recuperating day (recuperating from the blessing day). Today, I was just being lazy. Tomorrow I will begin again with the aerobics.

Tomorrows Plan:
5 min warm up
20 minutes hard work out
5 min cool down
Stretch

Also, sweets have gotten the better of me and I think I'm going to have to lay off all sweets for a while. I don't know about this because it doesn't seem to work out very well unless I have an incentive. So, I'm going to think about some stuff I want and then get back to the details of no sweets...

Food Goal huh...?

Well I guess you can say I had good intentions. My food menu didn't go quite as planned and I am reconsidering how I can make my goals realities... I think it's just SO hard to cook for one. I have no desire to cook when I'm by myself taking care of Hannah. I just want to grab a snack and play with her, or clean my house, or whatever. And I don't like to cook big meals because after eating the same thing for 3 meals it's pretty much done. Tonight at YW one of the leaders taught an exercise class. She's a personal trainer and she's way buff, not bulky, and is very smart about nutrition and exercise. She told me I could exercise but just make sure I have enough calories and drink LOTS of water. I went to the doctor today for my 6 Week Check-up. Things are healing well and I didn't ask but I'm pretty sure I'm good to go for exercising. Also, of course they weighed me, in the afternoon mind you, and I was 150 lbs! So, LONG term goal is to weigh 125 lbs. Weight doesn't matter but when I weighed that much I felt good and I think I looked good!
I'll have to post a pic of me in my thinner days and then one today.
SHORT term goal-get back to pre-pregnancy weight=140 lbs (it's a little embarrassing to admit but I think if I just let it out it will be easier for me to be motivated)
-Do exercise routine
-Eat better and drink more water
-Goal by: November 16th-12 weeks post partum. That's 6 weeks, well 5 1/2, that's good?

2nd SHORT term goal-lose another 10 lbs
-More details later

So, I think if I can get off my butt things will be better. I am going to do a strength work out 2 x a week AND I am going to exercise on the elliptical 2 x a week (to start) and do interval training on it. I would like to go on walks in addition to this with Hannah and Sasha because we all love going on walks and it's good exercise for Sasha (and me...) Tomorrow will be cardio (elliptical) since I did a strength work out today.

Food goal today

Here is the food goal for today
Breakfast- 2 eggs, tortilla, 1/2 c red and green peppers, 1/2 c cheese
snack: 1 yogurt, banana
lunch: 2 oz deli meat sandwich with lettuce, 1 carrot, chips 1 c milk
snack: protein shake, apple
dinner: 3 oz salmon, 1 1/2 c broccoli, 1 c rice, 1 c milk
snack: muffin

Bread: 7
Veg: 3
Fruit: 2
Dairy: 3 1/4 (the yogurt is 6 oz and only counts as 3/4 c)
Meat/beans: 7

Well we'll see how this goes...I haven't calculated calories and nutrition info yet and we'll see how full I feel...

6 weeks

Well, it's been 6 weeks since I had my baby. I gained 28 pounds during my pregnancy and I've lost 19. I only have 9 to go but they are just sticking onto me! I started walking on my elliptical at 4 weeks post par tum and then stopped after a week and now I think I'm ready to get back on it. I will take it easy for the next couple days until my dr appt but I really want to get this weight off. My pre-pregnancy clothes aren't fitting that great and I fee like I should be back into my normal clothes by now. I know everyone is different but geez, I just don't want to have my lame-o muffin top...

Weight Loss

Alright, since my last post I have had my baby! So cute, also I have lost 18 lbs, whoohoo! I still have 10 to get to my pre-pregnancy weight but I want to be like 10 lbs under that eventually. So, since I'm only 3 weeks post partum I'm not doing anything too crazy, well, I'm not doing anything much really. I've been getting stir crazy so I think tomorrow I will take a walk. I didn't really want to do too much walking the first couple weeks after so here's to a fresh start. I hope I can gradually lose my weight and still have a good milk supply. My goals right now are:

1. Drink lots of water... 8-10 glasses
2. Get my fruits and veggies daily 2 fruits 3 veggies, at least.
3. Food journal-My eating has kind of gone down the drain unfortunately so I will impliment this again in my daily routine.
4. Do something active every day. Like take a walk, walk on the eliptical if it's rainy. I'm not doing anything strenous, just walking and taking it easy but still doing something.

I'll let you know how it goes but I'm pretty sure no one reads this anymore. LOL Oh well! It was more for me anyway.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

At the doctor today I have gained a total of 25 lbs! Wow! I feel very good about the weight gain and I'm 40 weeks so what can you say? Hopefully I won't gain too much more this week and then for sure the baby will come Monday and the transformation will begin (although very slow the first 6 weeks :-)) Just keeping tabs on myself I guess since my workout buddys are on hiatus :)
