I don't want to be fat anymore

I don't want to be fat anymore. I really don't. I don't want to have my love handles hanging out over my "fat" jeans. I don't want all of my shirts to feel too tight. And I don't want to buy new bigger clothes because that's not right. I am overweight for my height and body frame and I need to lose it. I recently looked at some pictures from a family trip to Lake Powell and I am sorely disappointing with myself. How did I let go so much? Why haven't I changed already? Looking at those pictures and really knowing how bad I look I decided I really need to change. I need to get a hold of myself. I didn't make my first goal of losing 10 pounds and that's okay. I can' keep going and still lose the weight. I am going to workout more (more that just a walk a day) and eat less. It's really just that easy. Well, the plan is easy. The actual doing it is hard. But I know I can do it. I need to do it. I don't want to be overweight like my mom (sorry mom). I see her struggle all the time, yo yo dieting, etc. Her feet hurt, her knees hurt. I don't want that. She's been trying to lose weight for years and hasn't had the willpower or has burned out because she went too strong too fast. I don't want to be like that and I can see myself going down that path if I don't change now. Also, I don't want to get pregnant again at this weight. Studies have shown that if you weigh more than you did before you got pregnant the first time (or your previous pregnancy) that you have a higher risk of gestational diabetes, large child, blood pressure problems, etc. I don't want to have to deal with that! So, that's my soapbox. Hopefully I didn't share too many personal details but then again I don't think too many people read this blog anyway lol! oh, and the 25 lbs is still on for the end of the year, bring it!

Clean Eating

While I have been walking/exercising every day my eating hasn't been that great. I came across a fitness blog and the author was talking about clean eating. I think it's a great idea and something I need to implement. I got a rootbeer float yesterday and afterward I didn't feel good at all (imagine that!). I shouldn't have even gotten it but I did. And now I know that my body doesn't like those kinds of things. Should I already know this? Of course!

So, back to clean eating. I want to eat clean. I'm going to eat clean. I will continue writing down my eating and maybe I'll post it here if I get ambitious ;) Eating clean to me consists of eating whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean meats. Not heavily processed foods, sweets, high fat foods, etc.

My Nemesis

This Week:

This week has been pretty good overall. I went walking every day and tried to keep good eating habits. On Tuesday we went up to our cabin and I ate a little too many sweets. And then we went up again on Friday and again, too many sweets. I don't know what to do! I feel like I have NO self control when I am eating sweets. I don't know why it was different when camping but I have had so many sweets the last 2 days and it's just crazy. And it make matters worse I weighed myself yesterday and I gained a pound back. I am going to have to work REALLY hard to lose the 10 pounds I am going to lose by the end of the month. I just need to keep my goals in sight...post it notes?...
