Yesterday I ran 2.6 miles not counting my warm up and cool down in 29 minutes! :)
Then today I walked to the library for my cross training and it was great. I walked for 40 minutes!
Anyway, I just wanted to post to help keep me going. I hope everyone else is doing good!

6 miles and doing ok
Well I'm on vacation right now with my sister who is also training for the half marathon. We didn't slack off the whole week which I might have if I was by myself :) which is why its great to have a running partner! We did 2 1/2 miles on Monday, missed Wednesday, and then 6 miles yesterday! It was hard and I wanted to quit and it was a hard reminder of how far I still need to go. I'm feeling pretty good today. My ankles are a little sore and same with the rest of my lower body but other than that I think I'll be ready to run again on Monday. I've been consistent in my running the past couple weeks too.
I was thinking yesterday as we were running, this is hard! It was hard and maybe that's why a lot of people don't do it, because it is difficult to run that much. And for me it's just going to get harder before it gets easier (the easy part is after the 1/2 marathon is over!) Anyway, just wanted to let ya'll know how things are going for me!

WAY cool website!
My sister just told me about this awesome website www.usatf.com. I think the coolest thing about it is that you can track your jogging routes. As the weather gets nicer I'm going to be jogging pretty much outside all the time. Sometimes it's hard to track where I go and I often just estimate. But with this website it tells you exactly how far you've gone using Googlemaps. You can cut across the street or through a yard. It's cool. Yesterday I ran 4 1/2 miles and tracked it using the website since I was out and about. There's also a feature to see other people's routes close to your home and how many miles they are if you want to do a specific route. You should check it out!
Here's the link to make your own route:http://www.usatf.org/routes/map/

Biking
I went biking (at the gym) yesterday for my cross training workout. It was awesome! I went 6 1/2 miles in 35 minutes. It was hard because I was doing hills but it felt good to get a hard workout in again. Now today is running. I haven't done it yet but I'm still planning on it :) I think biking is a great cross training exercise. I'm also considering the elliptical and swimming as other options. My food hasn't been as great as it was in the beginning of the year but I'm still trying despite the huge amount of chocolate I just received from Valentine's Day...

Slug
Today I feel like a slug. I did run 3 miles but I still feel like a slug. And when I was running I was feeling sore and it was hard and I was king of mad that I was running. I didn't want to be running. I wanted to be sitting on my couch playing with Hannah and not working hard, or maybe at least just walking around the park and not running. Maybe it's because I woke up at 6 and I'm just cranky.

Breathe the fresh air
Today I went outside in the backyard while Hannah was taking a nap because Sasha was barking at who knows what. The weather today has been great and I just stood out there and took a few deep breaths and thought to myself I feel healthy, I feel good, I look good. (Now, don't think I'm getting all self-whatever). On Friday I was hanging out with one of my friends and we were talking about our baby weight (her baby is 3 weeks younger than Hannah). She was talking about how much harder it was to get the weight off this time (this is her 2nd). By the end of the conversation we decided that we both look really good and looking back 10 years from now we'll say to ourselves, what were we thinking we looked great! I've done this many times. Looking back to when I was in high school, or just married, or now, before Hannah. But sometimes I stop and think, really, I don't look too bad :)
I hope you can look at yourself today after all the hard work you've been doing to stay in shape and think to yourself, you look great because you do!

Update!
Well, I just realized how long it had been since my last post! I am doing this 11 week training program for the 1/2 marathon. So I ran Wednesday and didn't run again until Monday but I ran a little over 2 miles with the stroller and the dog. It was interesting to say the least and I'll took forward to runs on Saturdays when I can concentrate on my form and such a little better.
So here's the plan and the training program started this week:
Mon, Wed and sat are running days,
Tues and Thurs are cross training days and
Fri is a stretch day and
Sunday is a rest day. I haven't gone running yet today but I will as soon as my babe gets tired for her next nap :)
(Edit: I ran 2 3/4 miles today! It was really really hard but I'm glad I'm doing it)
I'm sorry you guys are in a rut. Those are hard to get out of and I know I've had plenty of them. Good luck this week and I want to see you soon!!

I ran 2 miles today
I felt like I might throw up at one point but I did it. I've got A LOT of training to do before April 17th.
It wasn't too bad though considering it being my first time running a long distance since last may...

You know when you're not blogging...
Things usually aren't going so well. It's true for me at least. I like to blog every day about my accomplishments. But when I make chocolate chip m&m oatmeal cookies and eat a lot of them in one day. Well, not my best moment. I have been struggling to work out this week. I really really REALLY need to start running or I will die when I run the half marathon in less than 3 months. Since the weather is sure to continue this way for a while I might get a month to month membership at the Westminster Gym. It's pretty close and then while Danny's home I can go over there and run a few miles and on the days that the weather's nice I can run with Hannah and the dog (is that possible? I can just imagine myself running with a stroller and the dog...I don't know if I'm ready for that...) Anyway, I'm trying to keep myself pumped for this and I was calculating yesterday just for fun, if I want to lose 30 lbs this year, which I might, depending, then I only need to lose 2.7 lbs a month starting in February! 3 lbs a month! It seems pretty do-able right? I definitely want to get down to 130 before I get pregnant again so maybe that should be my goal for now. Oh, and I'm still sticking to my measurement goals too and will be checking them soon!
I wish everyone good luck this week and keep up the hard work!

The truth. Is that I haven't done P90X for a whole week! What happened here? Well, the weekend and then I kind of lost my drive. It's terrible, I know. I did do a Biggest Loser 30 day shred on Monday but it was easy compared to P90X.
I've been thinking a lot about the half marathon. I really need to start training for it. So I think I may tweak my exercise plan a little bit so I'm not doing P90X everyday but maybe every other day so I can run every other day. My goal this year is to run the half marathon. P90X was something I wanted to with Danny to help us be motivated and get healthy.
I do have to say that our eating habits have changed tremendously, and for the better! We eat a lot more vegetables, hardly anything that's processed and are enjoying new recipes. Speaking of which, I made whole wheat nlueberry muffins last night. They are delicious and very easy to make! Here is the recipe. I think you should try it!
2/3 c sugar
1/3 c butter
1 egg
1/4 c Flax meal
1/4 c honey
1 c skim milk
2 c wheat flour
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 c drained blueberries or fresh blueberries (I used canned and they were still way yummy)
Cream sugar and butter together. Add egg and mix well. Add flax meal, honey and milk. Mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in blueberries. Fill greased muffin tins 3/4 full. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
Try other fruits for other tasty muffins!

Day 13 and 14
Things have been going well. I did a little workout yesterday (only 30 minutes) but wasn't really feeling like working out. Of course that happens sometimes. Today I'm feeling better but haven't exercised yet. I don't think I probably will get to it until later tonight but that's okay. Here's my food so far:
Breakfast:
3 scrambled eggs
1 english muffin
1/2 c plain yogurt
1 tsp sugar (I couldn't stand the yogurt without it!)
1/4 c mixed berries (to put in yogurt)
1 c skim milk
Good luck to everyone today!
Update:
Lunch:
Aloha Chicken Salad from Rumbi's
1/2 container of the dressing they put on
Snack:
Sugar-free chocolate pudding
Banana

Day 12 P90X-Rest day
I know I said I wasn't going to weigh myself but I couldn't help it this morning. Are you ready? I've lost 5 1/2 lbs! I think this is all "real" weight loss and not water weight. It has been almost 2 weeks since I started this. So I'm feeling great about that! I feel like I've been working out a lot more than I used to and definitely eating better... But I'm not feeling so great about last night...We went out with some friends and stopped off at Yogurt Stop in Sandy. This place is SO good. I'll just tell you what I had: Chocolate frozen yogurt with cut up reese's peanut butter cup, reeses pieces, and raspberries and strawberries. I'm not going to lie, it was delicious! And I know I shouldn't have done it but it was yogurt, so that's a little better right? haha! Anyway, I'm sticking to my guns about keeping up with this new healthy diet and good exercise because I really feel different and feel better about myself. I'm going to keep going and hopefully keep getting results (on the scale) and hopefully seeing results in the way my clothes fit too!

Day 11 P90X
Today has been great so far! I had a good breakfast, worked out (1 hr video of pull ups, lunges, etc), then went to lunch with my friends. I didn't over indulge! My friends and I went to Kneaders for lunch which is way yummy. I had a half turkey sandwich and tomato basil soup. I really wanted a fruit tart but resisted and I'm so glad. Also I had a power bar this afternoon :) Hopefully with all this work I'll start seeing results soon!

Day 10 P90X
Well today I was supposed to do Yoga, but it's 9:15 and I'm tired from the whole day so I'm going to skip it until tomorrow. I did get a little exercise in. I reorganized my whole room and sweat a little. Ha ha. So I know it wasn't really exercising but at least I didn't sit around all day on my butt. I really just wish the air would clear so I could go running.
I am pretty sure I have lost some weight but I haven't weighed myself and don't plan to until the one month mark in starting P90X. I do feel like my ab muscles are a lot stronger. Not as strong as they were before having Hannah but I actually feel like I have real strength in them again. My clothes are fitting pretty much the same (I think) but I think if I was doing all the workouts and not cheating at all I would have more results. Maybe, I don't know.
I've been thinking about my measurements. Does anyone check their measurements or just the scale? I would like to set measurement goals but I'm not sure what they should be. I guess I could just make one and see how it goes...
So here it is, I'll try and be realistic:
Goals to be reached by Feb 4th, 2010 (1 month into P90X)
waist: -1 inch
hips: -1 inch
thighs: -1/2 inch
I didn't put my bust (hehe) in because I don't even know what's going on there. I measured my bust a few weeks ago and almost died because the measurement was so big! I know they're not really big but they're big to me!
Alright food today was okay. I snacked a little bit more but at least it was on healthy stuff. Good luck to you gals!

Day 10 P90X
During my workout today I was totally sweating! Way more than usual! It was insane! Like you guys needed to know that or even wanted to but for some reason I feel like it was noteworthy. I was doing so well today with my food intake and then the dog was being annoying and barking and Hannah wouldn't take a nap and I couldn't take it anymore. I needed relief! I needed chocolate! Unfortunately I hid all the treats in the house. So I knew right where to get them. It hasn't been a problem until today. Maybe it was the fact that Danny had cheated last week and gotten a Snickers Ice Cream bar... But I didn't overindulge too bad. I had 2 chocolate hugs, 2 chocolate kisses, and 4 slices of a chocolate orange oh and 2 bell shaped crunch chocolates. I don't think it was too many calories but there's nothing I can do now but move forward! Ha ha, hopefully I can control myself a little better in the future!
No, I didn't throw away the candy and treats.
Yes, I did hide it in the same place...

Day 9 P90X
Well today was crazy. I managed to eat well, thankfully but Hannah was being a goose and wasn't taking long naps so no working out for me...Oh well, tomorrow is another day! Things are getting easier but my butt hurts a ton from my workout yesterday. I want to start training for the Salt Lake Half Marathon but the air is so bad I don't want to go out there yet! We don't have a gym membership and definitely don't have enough room for a treadmill so I'll just have to wait. Anyway, I hope you guys are doing well!

Day 8 P90X
Today has been great! I woke up early and ate breakfast, then when Hannah went to sleep I worked out, took a shower, and did a few other things around the house before she woke up! What a kid. Anyway. All my meals are going great too. I feel full of energy and healthy. Oh, but my body still hurts. Luckily I can pick up Hannah without being in pain anymore!

Day 7 P90X
Rest day!
I love that in this program there is a rest day. It's nice to not worry about working out on Sunday but we are still eating good. Danny was having a hard time with just eating right so I'm back to making the scheduled food for the program. In a way it will be nice but I think it's a little strict. I think as long as it will help Danny I'll do it. I really want him to succeed like he does so there ya go. Tomorrow we're back on the band wagon and will hopefully stay on track with our workouts. I've found it a little hard with Hannah. I don't want to wake up really early and work out because of my neighbor so I work out in the day but then I have to stop short if Hannah wakes up so I guess I'll get it all figured out eventually and will definitely keep going. No quitting here! Bring it!
P.S. We are going to California at the end of next month! Now there's motivation!!

Day 5-food breakdown...
I need to do a mid-day post to "regroup" if you will. We had an issue with our downstairs neighbor who's bedroom happens to be right below our kitchen. I'll tell you the whole story later but I didn't want to make much noise this morning so I opted to have Raisin Bran for breakfast. I went to a playdate and had a Fiber One bar. So not too bad. THEN I had fuity-o's cereal( I knew I should've hid those...) for lunch and some more raisin bran...So, I just needed to write my wrongs so that the rest of my day wont continue this way. I was even tempted to make chocolate chip m&m cookies!! I hope you guys are doing better than me!
I feel much better now!
UPDATE:
Truth be told this day wasn't the greatest but that's okay. It's all part of the journey. Tomorrow is a new day and I'm still on the saddle, I was just leaning a little too far to one side.
